Comprehensive Canine Behavioral Package: $400; Includes interview, enrichment demo, canine body language session, all relevant handouts, review of the plan of action, two in-person training sessions at the office, and follow-up calls. Each session is 50 minutes and there are a total of six sessions. Sessions 1-4 are for pet parents only. Sessions 5 and 6 are for in-person training and demonstrations. A home visit may be substituted for the two in-person sessions if the dog cannot travel to the office for a total of 5 sessions. Must be within 25 minutes of Northside Veterinary Hospital or Brooklyn Road Veterinary Clinic. This package is for pet parents that have dogs with behavioral issues. The package offers a detailed approach, not just focusing on the behavioral issues present, but giving pet parents valuable information to be the best pet parents possible.
Basic Training Package: $300; No major behavioral concerns. Basic training of cues like sit, down, come, stay, touch, drop it, leave it, clicker training games, loose leash walking, and enrichment. Clicker training will be utilized. Basic training serves as a bonding experience and helps to refine communication between pet parents and their dogs. Positive reinforcement based. No aversives or body manipulation used. Office only package. Five total sessions; one pet parent only session to discuss procedures, philosophy, goals, etc. Each session is 50 minutes.
Package Add-ons
Additional Sessions: $55 per session if a package has already been purchased. Each session is 50 minutes.
Home visits: $100 per visit; Must be within 25 minutes of Northside Veterinary Hospital or Brooklyn Road Veterinary Clinic. Available to BRVC and NVH clients only. Up to 90 minutes per visit. Home visits serve as an add-on to a comprehensive behavioral package only.
Zoom Session Package: $275; Includes interview, enrichment demo, discussion of relevant handouts, and two additional Zoom sessions. Five total Zoom sessions. Sessions are 45 minutes. All required documents must be signed and returned prior to Zoom meetings.
Individual Session: $65; Not for serious behavioral issues; individual sessions can be used to ask basic questions, get more information about positive reinforcement training and behavioral modification, discuss how to move forward, management/prevention, etc. No in person training or behavioral modification. Individual sessions are 50 minutes.
Thinking About Getting A Dog?: $75; Counseling for new prospective pet parents on a dog that will fit their lifestyle with the hope of reducing future problems, surrender, etc. Pet parents to fill-out relevant forms prior to the session. The session is 50 minutes.
All Things Puppy Session: $75; Includes a 50 minute session to discuss puppy basics, ask questions, discuss socialization, etc. Comes with an extensive packet of information helpful to starting your puppy off on the right paw. No formal training or behavioral modification.

Reactivity Class: $300; Four total classes. First two classes for pet parents only, last two classes for in-person, one-on-one demonstrations. Last two sessions to be scheduled at the pet parent's convenience. Each class is 50 minutes.
Enrichment Class: $65; One night only discussion about enrichment; full enrichment demo.
Body Language and Husbandry Course: $85; One night only course for pet parents. Pet parents will learn about canine body language and how to prevent/address handling issues. Relevant handouts included. The course will last up to 90 minutes.

Betsy Kerr-Gall MA CBCC-KA FFCP is a Certified Canine Behavioral Consultant with the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. She is also Fear Free Certified. Betsy holds a BA degree in Psychology and a MA degree in Community Counseling from Siena Heights University. She has worked at Northside Veterinary Hospital in Hillsdale since 2005 as a Veterinary Assistant. She currently works as a Certified Canine Behavioral Consultant at Northside Veterinary Hospital and Brooklyn Road Veterinary Clinic. Betsy's education in the field of psychology along with her years of experience in veterinary medicine have helped to forge her path as a canine behavioral consultant and provide her a unique and informed perspective on canine behavioral care. Betsy works closely with veterinarians to rule-out medical issues as a cause of behavioral changes and to explore all potential aspects and interventions for behavioral modification and training.
Betsy is a positive reinforcement based canine behavioral consultant. She does NOT use harsh corrections or aversive devices while modifying behavior. She focuses on building your bond with your dog, providing your dog with species-specific outlets, teaching new skills to diminish unwanted behaviors, and teaching canine body language to help pet parents understand what their dogs are communicating. Betsy takes a comprehensive approach to the sessions she offers, not just addressing the specific behavioral issues at hand, but giving you the tools you need to be the best pet parent possible.
Betsy has four dogs of her own-Ducky, Levi, Trudy, and Little Foot. She has a passion for rescuing geriatric and special needs dogs. Betsy is married to her husband Dustin and enjoys walking, hiking, and going on adventures with her husband and her dogs. Betsy is a canine advocate always promoting a more humane approach to our relationships with our dogs. She believes in a human-canine bond built on mutual respect, compassion, love, guidance, and understanding.

Appointment availability is limited and is split between the Jackson and Hillsdale locations. Please come 10 minutes early prior to your scheduled appointment to complete paperwork. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule. All dogs must be up-to-date on their DHLPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines. Only vaccines given by a licensed veterinarian will be accepted.
